The World Communion Sunday offering and United Methodist Student Day offering both go toward scholarships and loans for college students.
Conference Merit Scholarship
Each annual conference receives 10% of whatever was given within their conference for United Methodist Student Day. Scholarships are awarded to United Methodist students attending a United Methodist-related college or university. An application may be obtained from the conference Connectional Ministries office or click here for an application.
Pass the Torch scholarships
The Retired Ministers and Spouses Association of the Kansas West Conference now offers Pass the Torch scholarships to part-time seminary students and course-of-study candidates as well as full-time seminary students.
The maximum scholarship of $200 to assist in seminary expenses (books or tuition) will be available to five candidates for part-time seminary students or course-of-study students from the Kansas West Conference.
Four $1,000 scholarships are available to full-time seminary students from the Kansas West Conference.
The application deadline is the Friday before the third Tuesday in March.
For the 2013-14 school year, the deadline for full-time students is March 15, 2013.
For the 2013-14 school year only, part-time and course-of-study students may apply through May 1, 2013.

United Methodist Higher Education Foundation

General Board of Higher Education and Ministry Loans and Scholarships
The United Methodist Scholarship and Loan programs are a church-wide educational service providing scholarships and loans to help supplement the financial needs of today's students. General Board of Discipleship Young People's Ministries

Oklahoma City University Scholarship
One $1,000 scholarship available annually. The candidate must be a leader in local UMYF, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, maintain a 3.0 GPA once enrolled at OCU and be approved by the vice-president for University-Church Relations at OCU. Georgia Harkness Scholarship
Open to women over 35 enrolled full-time in a University Senate-accredited school of theology in the master of divinity degree program, who currently are certified as candidates for ordained ministry as an elder in the United Methodist Church. United Methodist Communications Fellowship and Scholarship
United Methodist Communications offers the Leonard M. Perryman Communications Scholarship for ethnic minority students and the Stoody-West Fellowship to United Methodists who intend to pursue a career in religion journalism and is enrolled in a post-graduate study at a school in the United States. Judy Weidman Racial Ethnic Minority Fellowship
