About the Kansas West Conference
The present Kansas West United Methodist Conference was formed in 1968 by the merger of the Kansas Conference of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Central Kansas Conference of the Methodist Church. The conferences were combined through the unification of the Evangelical United Brethren and Methodist denominations in April 1968.
Headquartered in Wichita, today’s Kansas West United Methodist Conference is comprised of 364 active churches, 376 clergy members and more than 88,000 lay members. It covers the state of Kansas from U.S. Highway 77 west to the eastern Colorado border.
