Mission Connections

The people of the United Methodist Church live out their faith, sharing the message of God's love through ministries of health care, Christian education and environmental issue support.

God is calling men and women of all ages and races to share the risks and pain of mission. And more and more are responding.

If you are interested in becoming a missionary, e-mail Linda Louderback or call her at 800-745-2350, 316-684-0266.

Missionary Itineration

Since October 1997, Dr. Lynn and Dr. Sharon Fogleman have served at the Red Bird Clinic as a "job-sharing" physician team. Prior to coming to Kentucky, they served as medical missionaries with the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church to Maua Methodist Hospital in Maua, Kenya, East Africa.

Dr. Sharon graduated from Cornell College in Iowa and from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. She completed her residency at the Black Hawk Family Practice Program in Waterloo, Iowa and was certified by the American Board of Family Practice in 1985. Dr. Lynn graduated from the University of Kansas for both undergraduate studies and medical school. He completed his residency at the Mercy-St. Luke's Family Practice Program in Davenport, Iowa and was certified by the American Board of Family Practice in 1983. He practiced three (3) years prior to becoming a missionary. Both doctors are members of the Christian Medical and Dental Society and the Kentucky Medical Association.

Lynn and Sharon have three children. Kurt is at Simpson College in Iowa, Mark graduated from Red Bird Mission School in 2008 and is attending the University of Kentucky and Joella will be a senior at Red Bird Mission School this year (2009).

Drs. Lynn and Sharon Fogleman will be visiting Kansas West Conference in September.  Check the schedule to see when they will be in your district.
