United Methodist Western Kansas Mexican American Ministries is a Christian ministry to all races, colors and faiths. The organization targets the underserved and provides services in both English and Spanish, with additional translators available for assistance with other languages.

MAM offers a comprehensive array of spiritual, social, educational and medical programs.

As a conference employee, many times I don’t take the time to really understand all that is done by Kansas West agencies.  This past weekend, my husband and I had an opportunity to travel to Garden City to attend a donor recognition dinner for Western Kansas Mexican-American Ministries (MAM).  What an enlightening trip!  Penney Schwab, Director, gave us a tour of the facilities.  For years I’ve read the flyers and articles and heard presentations on the community services provided and the special health and outreach programs conducted in Garden City and their outreach sites.  Seeing the ministry in person makes such a difference. The food and clothing banks were impressive as were the rooms for Vacation Bible School.  However, seeing the medical examination rooms and the learning skills areas for children, God’s presence is quite evident!  I went there as a part of my job; I left as a United Methodist being amazed about what mission and ministry funds can do with the help of dedicated leadership and volunteers.
