Follow Kansas West delegation in Zimbabwe on Twitter

WICHITA—The Kansas West Conference Focus Team made the decision at its October meeting to explore a risk-taking mission by sending a delegation of 14 people to Zimbabwe to explore the possibilities of a partnership between the two conferences.

The delegation leaves Wichita Jan. 28 and will return to Wichita Feb. 9. Rev. Linda Louderback, director of Connectional Ministries, organized the trip in conjunction with Rev. Phillip Musharu in Zimbabwe.

The group will visit each of the six districts in the Zimbabwe East Annual Conference and be in dialogue with the people there. Their aim will be to find ways to develop the partnership between the two conferences.

Members of the delegation are:

  • Rev. Aaron Madondo, pastor at Hill City UMC
  • Rev. Dr. Kennedy Mukwindidza, pastor at Quinter and Grinnell UMCs
  • David Perry, pastor at Gypsum UMC
  • Lea Ann Reber, lay member at Newton First UMC
  • Larry Swanson, lay member at Arkansas City First UMC
  • Rev. Glenn Tombaugh, pastor at Wichita Mt. Vernon UMC
  • Bob Unruh, lay member at Hillsboro UMC
  • Rev. Dennis Wallace, pastor at Wichita Asbury UMC
