Open Door's new facility

United Methodist Open Door has a new Resource and Referral Center in downtown Wichita that opened in February 2012. Rev. Deann Smith, executive director of the agency, said the center is a better facility and the agency was able to converge resource services there. Visitors toured the new facility during an open house Feb. 27.

RRW North Convention - Clare Mission Centre

Members of the information-gathering team traveling with Bishop Scott Jones attended the RRW North Convention at Clare Mission between Rusepe and Mutare Aug. 17-19.
Zimunya Skills Center Dedication Aug. 14, 2011

Members of the Kansas West teams to Zimbabwe joined together at the dedication of the Zimunya Training and Conference Centre - Mutare District Aug. 14. Bishop Scott Jones and Bishop Eben Nhiwatiwa participated in the ribbon cutting. The project has been constructed in part by volunteers from the Kansas West Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Chimanimani-Chipinge District

The information-gathering team traveling with Bishop Scott Jones visited the Chimanimani-Chipinge District on Aug. 16. This district is partnered with the Dodge City District. It is located in the eastern highlands of Zimbabwe and receives few visitors from the outside. Congregations were thrilled to have guests from the United States visit them.
