Bishop Scott Jones, resident bishop of the Kansas Area of the United Methodist Church, will be the featured speaker at the 23rd Annual Holland Preaching Series.

Sunday morning at the 10:50 am service, Bishop Jones will preach on "God and Coherence," from Colossians 1: 9-20. At 1:30 pm he will provide an overview of Bishop Robert Schnase's "Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations." At 7:00 pm the Southwestern Gospel Choir, under the direction of Jeremiah Roberts, will provide music prior to Bishop Jones's sermon, "God and Connection," using the text Ephesians 4: 1-7.

Monday's 7:00 pm service will begin with music by "Slane", a quartet of Curt Clark, Dick Busby, Eric Kerschen and Russell Smoker. The topic of Bishop Jones's evening sermon will be "God and Agency," Philippians 2: 1-13.

Refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall after each evening's presentation. The Holland Preaching Series is funded by bequests of the estates of Roy and Lottie Holland and there are no charges or offerings taken. Childcare is provided without charge.
